We all know that SC2 is going to be one of the greatest RTS games to come out in a long time. With the game being already having been 12 years into the development process, we should expect a game which respects the original style of starcraft, and brings much more to the table. Being such a highly acclaimed game, massive amounts of people are doing anything they can to get in on the beta.
With that being said, me and a couple of friends have devised a method of amassing hundreds of beta keys, through contests, conventions, email sign ups and a few other ways, which I'd rather not share with the world :P. We realized there would be a great demand for such a commodity and with such a situation we were looking to capitalize on it.
This however did not work out as planned, as we received a C&D(cease and desists) from blizz due to our high amount of sales of the beta keys we had gained...they weren't quite happy about. So now we've decided to give what we have left away.
So how might you attain your own SC2 invite? You can start by following us on twitter and retweeting this post: http://twitter.com/starcr2Betakeys/status/9587694816, in fact if you don't I probably won't even consider your submission!

Every week or so(depending on how many submissions there are) we'll check the comments and select a couple people at random to receive an invite, the sooner you sign up the better your chances.

Starcraft was the first computer game I have ever played. I play random and enjoy playing SC in both solo and team matches. I would say I am a decent player and have competed on iCCup to some extent. I have a lot to say regarding balance and appearance when it comes to SC2 and I would be able to provide valuable commentary on the state of the beta.

Starcraft was the first RTS game I ever bought and played. Since it was first released I've been hooked on all blizzard products. As far as races go, I was a zerg minded individual in SC1 but I think this time around I'll be playing each class evenly. I think I have a lot to offer the community as far as input I can put forth throughout the entire beta. I think I'm a decent player with the ability to contribute greatly to the beta process. This would have to be year 10. I have been playing since i was back in third grade. I have always loved how unique the units are and how the races can be so different yet in the end the game is balanced.I have mostly ended on the protoss side. I just like the idea of a highly advanced race that has hit the peak of technology. I believe that i could contribute greatly to the sc2 beta. I have already been watching game play so i know what already has been going on. I also am a follower of professional starcraft, so I will look at the competitive gaming aspects.

I've started playing Starcraft at the age of 12, I can remember the day as it were yesterday. I inserted the game ... and oh wow - just a flash ... installing... Starting the game - I was just sitting there open-mounded seeing the Intro and oh wow ... I just thought god-damn hope i can play those freaking alien. (Hydralisk)
After viewing the intro - i started of playing the Single-Player Campaign and there it was this lovely Hydralisk again so it was - but wait ... Other Campaigns have to be played in first place? K, starting of with the human thing.
As I've already played other RTS-Games as AoE and WC1,2 i just felt familiar and home. So I started of playing the campaign - learning how it works etc.
So after playing all 3 Campaigns my decision was quite easy - Zerg.
Loving those little tiny sneaky Creatures. For the sake of universe ... who needs to talk if you just can scrap them out of the planet. (Ingame ofc :P)
Also I'm quite addicted to those Hive-kind living of ants etc. ^^
Well, why I should participate in the beta? I'm interested in the whole game - not just gaming. I like to analyse games. See how they work and work with them, Mapping especially. Also I am addicted to competive play. In SC1 I missed in time to play it really competive - underaged, started later than others, and the release of Warcraft3. Giving me a beta key is resulting in LiveStreams, informations, feedback, maps and the most important - making the game actual gold. As I'm now fully aged and able to play a game really competive I see SC2 as my chance to come back to buisness.

I started hanging around on the Starcraft Suggestions Forum wayyyy too early before the game came out, hanging out for any tiny crumbs of information that Blizzard released. Some of us were there so much and so very desperate and bored, that we started writing stories on the forum featuring Blizzard as an evil Bond-esque corporation, with a mob of idiots from the forum trying to liberate Starcraft from them. We called it 'Operation Can't Wait Any Longer,' or Operation CWAL. The stories featured forum admins such as PatN, and they thought they were fun.
We wound up being mentioned in the thanks at the end of the SC credits and in the manual, and they named a cheat after us. That was awesome.
The race I play the most? It's a hard one. I keep coming back to the zerg, but recently I've been returning to Terrans since I'm not good enough to get around core Zerg vulnerabilities, and it feels really relaxing to have farm buildings which can't be buzzed by any passing airunit. That said, I'm not brilliant at multiplayer, I just love the game.
Why should I get a beta key? I'm currently doing a PhD that involves studying videogames, so getting in on the ground floor with the SC2 beta and being able to watch it change would have layers of extra deliciousness for me. For what it would mean to the community, I have a ready made support network in the form of the crew who hung around with me waiting on SC1, and so I can make and distribute beta videos. Also, some of my friends have Beta invites already (the swine!) so we can arrange experimental games in order to climb the tech tree before attacking each other, so as to see how the late game works as well, and try different combinations.

I actually first played StarCraft around 2002 or 2003. Why so late? Well, partly because my mother discouraged me from playing games. You can imagine my life was pretty banal. After my introduction to SC, I became a bonfide PC gamer by 2005 but it wasn't until 2008 that I built my first gaming PC, out of my own pocket no less! In any case, SC is important to me because it was THE game that got me into PC gaming and I think it makes my life richer, though other people still find it as a "kid's hobby."
The race I use the most would be Terran. They're the jack of all trades race, powerful but not too powerful and relatively fast build time. In terms of favorite race, it would be Protoss, due to the advanced technology they wield.
Why I should get into the beta? This game has been a long time coming. The waiting has been unbearable to be honest. In life, there are many constants, death and taxes included but getting into a beta, an SC2 beta, one of the greatest PC games of all time? That's a one in a life time opportunity. To play the game before others and contribute to the making of the game by offering feedback? Sure, there are many betas, but this is SC2 and it holds a special place for me. I don't brag to be a great SC player but it is one of those games that I will always enjoy playing. Hell, something to show my kids in the future! =D

I've been playing starcraft for 5 years and have spent almost everyday playing the game. I even got the starcraft logo tattooed on the side of my arm in COLOR. I also went to blizzcon 2010 just to see the first hands on preview of the game which was fantastic, I spent 95% of my time on the video game at blizzcon and the remaining 5% on diablo.

I've played Starcraft since it was released. I still load it up weekly during our LAN gaming nights.
I like the Terran the best, always have. I do play all races, but Terran is where it is at.
I think I should be in the beta because I've been so dedicated to the series over the years.

I've started playing Starcraft 1 when it first came out. Actually it was one of the first videogames i've owned. My favourite race have to be the zerg. In my oppinion Blizzard just develops the best games. There is no Blizzard game that sucked, ever :) I'd be happy to be in the beta to provide some feedback making the game even better than it is right now.

I started playing way back in the beginning. I was in the original Starcraft Beta test and have been playing it for many years. It is still by far my favorite game! Until now of course I have been hanging out badly for a chance to get in the SC2 Beta :(
I play mainly Protoss and am very good with them. I am what you would call a veteran!
I believe I should get the SC2 Beta key because I have a passion for Starcraft and have huge RTS experience as like i said above was involved in the original SC beta. If I get in I will give back as much as I can to the community.. (Web site, video posts, replays, information etc.)

when blizz released Warcraft 2 they made me go buy my first computer!
I saw war2 at a friends house and I just had to have it myself.
from that day on I was hooked to blizzard and thier products, I
can't count the hours I have spent playing thier games, it's just not the fantastic gameplay that is so awsome, it's so good to look at,
pure eye candy in the highest sense.
I have bought all thier games, and every time there has been a
late night opening release of one of thier games, have I been there
waiting in the line to get my copy.
I am know in SC as [N]Morran, I played alot of Diablo I and II aswell but not much online,
in Warcraft III I am known as Morran.BuBBa, I mostly play casual solo above lvl 30
in vanilla WoW as the NE druid Noldolye and also as of late the dreanai hunter Remaneo.
Altho I am here writing this, it's not for me I want to obtain a Starcarft 2 Beta key, it's for my brother. Since he started beating me in Starcraft he has been
climbing the ladders of the elites. He has been a true dedicated player since 2000.
He has been one of the top terrans in Sweden, possibly in EU.
His micro is godly and his APM(like 400+ = boxxer) is through the roof,
I would love for him to start out in Starcraft 2 early, the scene needs more pro gamers to duke out into battle so we(normal humans) can
start enjoying some epic starcraft 2 battles !! (recorded videos posted on youtube)

What remaneo posted is quite correct, except for the APM part. My APM is more close to +300 but the difference between 300 and 400 is not really that relevant. On average most top level koreans have around 300 APM in normal televised games.
More info about me is that i startd playing Starcraft single player casually on my brothers' computer back in 1998. Since May 2001 i started playing on Battle.net and later in 2004 i joined the team NrT- (NeO roxOr TeaM). Today i am the leader of NrT- and right now we are among the top teams of the entire world (korean teams excluded of course) where we play in the first division of WGT Clanleague (www dot wgtour dot com), ICCup Clanleague (www dot iccup dot com), and BW Clanleague (www dot bwcl dot com) where we ranked #2 last season right after mouz (former MyM).
I play Terran and have been a terran user for as almost the entire time i have played starcraft. I have played all races in all types of games of course but not competitively in high ranked 1v1 since it's very hard to be that good with all races.
With my huge experience at the very top level of the game along with gameplay intuition like not many others possess i feel most qualified for a SC2 Beta Key. I have also just purchased a new computer (quadcore with quite a good graphics card) and i've started again to record SC1 games which i will continue to do with SC2. Since my team will presumably start playing SC2 competitively i'm sure we'll be playing in the upper divisions there as well which will result in absolutely amazing games (that is if i get a Beta Key of course so i can play the game first hand and give feedback to blizzard and my team mates to help develop the game even more for competitive play and help make the sequel become as huge of a success as it's predecessor.
One of my team mates NrT.PredY[CDS] (National A member of the Czech Republic and winner of the Czech WCG qualifiers 2009) has managed to get a share a Beta Key with his nation manager who visited blizzcon. Unfortunately he can't share the key with anyone else but PredY told me that he really wanted me to get a Beta Key as well so that i could give him some advice to help him with the game since he also is a Terran player.
If i were to possess a SC2 Beta Key i would be most grateful and spend as much time as i have to help develop this sequel into another successful franchise from Blizzard Entertainment.

Ive been playing starcraft, since the first one was released. I had it for Nintendo 64 and later got it for PC. I still play starcraft 1 to this day.

I play protoss the most. I started using them about a 3 months after I got the game on PC and Ive been using them ever since.

Why do I think I should get it over the many others? If the many others went out and purchased it on the Nintendo 64 on the first day and later went to get it on PC, so they could get the best out of the game then I say they deserve it just as much as I do, but if they didnt and havnt been wanted a sequel game for years I think I deserve it over them. Logged many hours of the day coming up with different ways to win.
